PRESS: TV channels to use single Internet broadcasting player by Apr
MOSCOW, Dec 26 (PRIME) -- Russia’s biggest television holdings will switch to a single player for online broadcasting by April 2018, and the project is based on the existing player of Channel One, business daily Vedomosti reported on Tuesday, citing the participants.
After two years of negotiations, Channel One, CTC Media, National Media Group, VGTRK agreed earlier in December to use a single technical platform, a player for Internet broadcasting. Television channels use such screen players for broadcasting on own Web sites and external resources.
It is the first stage of the window, and then the holdings will decide on a single online floor to accumulate content of the bulk of federal channels.
Two sources told the daily that Channel One’s player will be hugely modified by specialists of all channels, and the window will use significantly updated software.
